Martyr with her sister, Victoria, in Thora, on Lake Velino in Italy. Anatolia lived with Victoria and was sought by a young man named Aurelius but refused him. She was supported in her decision by a visit from an angel. Her refusal brought about the arrest of the sisters during the persecutions conducted by Emperor Trajanus Decius. Banished to Thora, Anatolia was locked in a room with a venomous serpent, but the reptile did not attack her. Her guard, a man named Audax, was so moved by the event that he became a Christian and suffered Anatolia's martyrdom by the sword. The martyrdom has been recorded in two legends or traditions.

I was named after Saint Anatolia. I actually never new if my name was a saints name or not. But now I know. In fact I have never asked Saint Anatolia to pray for me because no one sort of new her where i come from. In a very strange way i have always been drawn to the sacrament. The sacrament has always been special to me. Even when i didnt understand fully what the sacrament was all about i felt it necessary to enter into an adoration chaple before the holy sacrament and watch one hour with christ which i did very often. Saint Anatolia's body rests under the altar of the Sacrament. I guess she has always prayed for me. Saint Anatolia Pray for me. Thank you Lord Thank you Jesus

i never hear of her before but she sounds beautiful and holy and im thinking about using her for my 1st Communion(sp)

Saint Anatolia pray for us all, upon this memorial day of many earthly martyrs now in Heaven; pray even for the black rat snake I dreamed was trying to enter our house the other night -- he seemed not harmful or venomous but looking for something to eat, I hope; pray for and with all martyrs of July 9 for full eternal healing at their many Hospitals of new Jerusalem, Amen
